Jallabah: Halt pending Miss Liberia beauty contest until…

The First Runner Up in the 2007/2008 Miss Liberia Beauty Pageant,  Ms. Massa Jallabah, is cautiously urging the government to place an immediate halt  on the pending Miss Liberia Beauty Pageant until organizers of the contest can give her just prizes. 

 

The Miss Liberia Beauty pageant is organized by Miss Boss Lady Entertainment International, headed by Madam Barkue Tubman.

 

In an exclusive interview with the Heritage Thursday, Ms. Jallabah warned:  “If the pending  Miss Liberia beauty Pageant is allowed to go on as scheduled, the contestants will not be given their prizes  similar to my situation”.

 

According to her, since she participated in the 2007/2008 Beauty Pageant, organizers of the pageant are yet to give her prices namely US$5,000, a round trip ticket From Liberia to Nigeria or Ghana, and scholarship from Firestone – Liberia.

 

Ms. Jallabah, who contested the pageant on the ticket of Lofa County, said organizers of the pageant, has refused to give her prizes despite persistent calls for them to do so.

 

Predicated upon that, Ms. Jallabah said she filed a formal complaint to authorities of the Liberia national Police (LNP) to intervene in an effort to get her prizes.

 

The First Runner Up in the 2007/2008 Miss Liberia Beauty Pageant stated that the case is still pending before Police.

 

She said the matter has also been referred to the Ministry of Information Culture Affairs and Tourism, but the issue is yet to be resolved.

 

She expressed frustration and dismay over the refusal of the organizers of the pageant to give her prices, adding, “I have exhausted all efforts for the organizers to give my just prizes but to no avail.”

 

Meanwhile, a report carried in the 2007 edition of the Analyst Newspaper has confirmed that the organizers indeed promised to give the Ms. Jallabah her just prizes.

 

Organizers of the beauty pageant could not be reached up to press time for comments regarding the concerns raised by Ms. Jallabah.
