Cement dealers detained at Central Prison
The New Kru Town
Magisterial Court has ordered the detention of seven cement dealers at the
Monrovia Central Prison.
The court’s
order was based on a law suit filed by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
According to
a Ministry of Commerce release, a writ of arrest issued by the court, Toe
Kamara, Prince Ezekieh, William Clay Saydee Junior, Adam Flomo, Samuel Jeff,
and Tete Manabo allegedly taking part in the flogging of Commerce
Inspector-General Madam Macaetoh P. Wreh along with four (4) Inspectors
Adolphus Winn, Winston Feekpeh, Joseph Tamba and David Brown and six (6) Police
officers last week.
The seven
including the rank leaders Ms. Tete Manabo was charged for physical obstruction
of government function and will appear in court on Thursday, May 7, 2009.
They seven
cement dealers, who were conveyed to the court by police officers, are
currently detained pending trail.
